Sliding Gates vs Swing Gates
When it comes to driveway gates in Ashburton, two main styles dominate the scene: sliding and swinging. Both offer distinct advantages, and the ideal choice depends on your specific needs and property layout.
Designer Gates provides a complete end-to-end service from design, fabrication, and installation plus concrete, electrical, automation, fencing and hard landscape construction as needed.
Here's a breakdown of each style to help you decide:
SLIDING GATES
Space-saving Sliding Gates
Slide open along a track, ideal for properties with limited space to park inside the driveway.
Requires Flat Surface
Needs a straight fence line to slide behind and a relatively flat area for us to place a concrete foundation for the gate to move across
SWING GATES
Difficult Shaped Entrance
Perfect for entrance-ways that can't accommodate a sliding gate or have angles involved.
Requires Space Inside
Needs ample clearance on the side the gate swings open to avoid hitting objects or taking up valuable parking space.
We also provide custom services for:
Complete the look and add value to your property with landscaping, pedestrian or pathway gates, and matching or feature structures.

Could not recommend James highly enough. I had over four different companies come to my property and everyone told me that what I wanted couldn't be done. James came and provided a great solution and the project was completed very very fast and efficiently.
I found James's communication very quick and I would not hesitate to recommend Designer Gates, fantastic service and great quality product. Thanks.

Just a note to say thank you for the installation of our replacement gate. I didn't dream that we could possibly have it done before Christmas. It is much nicer than the previous one and we are thrilled with it.
The young men who did the job were just super to have working here, and were most obliging when I had to ask them to let me out when they were having their morning tea break. Nothing was a trouble. They were neat and tidy and went to no end of trouble to make sure Tony knew how to work everything.
Thank you again.
